Originally introduced in 1963 as a student drum, the Ludwig Acrolite quickly became the choice of pro players in need of dry, cracking snare tone.

Ludwig is proud to re-introduce Acrolite in its original splendor; with a seamless, beaded, brushed-aluminum shell. Made in Monroe, North Carolina, USA.

The Acrolite features chrome Twin snare lugs, P86C strainer, and Keystone Badge.

Acro Copper

A new era of Acrolite snare drums. Originally introduced in 1964, the Acrolite snare drum was developed as a student-level Aluminum snare drum. It has gained prominence over 50+ years for its professional-level build standards. This new Acro Series is the next chapter of the Acrolite legacy. The copper model has the darkest timbre quality any metal alloy has to offer. It resonates with the control of a wood snare while offering the presence you expect from a metal drum. They feature our 1-pc seamless phonic USA made shell in a brushed finish. Adopting the format of the elusive NYC Board of Ed. 6.5x14 Acrolite of 60’s/70’s, these drums feature a 10-twin lugs format for well-balanced tone and projection.

The Acro Brass is a very versatile snare that can position itself into almost any setting and head combination with exceptional performance. It performs with a dark timbre, high sensitivity, and great projection. They feature our 1-pc seamless USA made phonic shell in a brushed finished. Acro Bronze

New the the Acro series lineup is the brushed Bronze snare drum. This tempered shell softens the boosted mids that are more prominent on Polished bronze models. It offers a consistent timbre from low to high tuning ranges. An excellent all-purposes drum with balanced sensitivity and elevated projection compared to other Acro models.
